After calling Dr. Rieke, while in immense pain with my IT Band injury, he gave me immediate instructions about how to stabilize my injury at home until my appointment the very next morning. Once in his office, Dr. Rieke alleviated the majority of my pain during the very first visit (I crawled in, and was actually able to walk out.) He spent about an hour with me and throughout the entire visit explained the dynamics behind his methodology. It really helped to be educated about my condition which allowed me to better understand the road to recovery. Can't thank Dr. Jack enough for his knowledge and expertise – along with his compassionate bedside manner. He's a real pro!

The doctors here research nutrition, active release technique and LISTEN to the patient in our family. The doctors take time to communicate with the patient to understand the patient's health situation. The doctors ask the patient for feedback and use their knowledge to adapt treatment accordingly. I highly recommend!

Dr Rieke was fabulous. He took the time to thoroughly review and discuss my history, asked lots of questions and really listened. His assessment included asking fur my feedback on pain, discomfort and the like. This helped him determine what was happening and what treatment was called for. I look forward to continuing our work together.

I wish I could rate more than 5 stars! I do not submit reviews often but Cross-Up Chiropractic is hands down the best Chiropractic office I have ever been to. They are the most caring doctors who listen to their patients and create plans that will fix the issue(s) long term and not put a bandaid on them. Dr. Peyton has helped me overcome injuries that I thought I would have to live in pain for the rest of my life. I always leave my appointments feeling like a new person! At every appointment I have she continues to educate me on why my pains are occurring and how we will be fixing them for a long term. She has introduced me to acupuncture, cupping and nutrition! My healthy and body are in a completely different place from where I was 4 months ago and I owe it all to Dr. Peyton! I cannot say enough amazing things about her!

I’ve been dealing with sacroiliac back pain from a back injury two years ago. One appointment with Dr. Jack helped minimize my pain immediately! I’ve treated the injury with both massages and physical therapy, and this treatment was equally as beneficial.

Dr. Peyton Habenicht worked with me for over two hours for my first session and adjustment. She was thorough & informed me of more details regarding my injury. I really enjoyed that she taught me PT exercises that I can do from home to help speed my recovery. From the first phone conversation I could tell that she is informed & she listened to all of my concerns. If you are hesitant to see a chiropractor, don’t worry, with Dr. Peyton you are in good hands. I can see her passion and commitment to her profession. Also she charges fairly & this is refreshing. I highly recommend her!!!

Acupuncturist – Chiropractor in Mundelein

Dr. Peyton Habenicht

Chiropractor, Acupuncture, NET, FMT, Webster Certified

At just 14 years old, Dr. Habenicht developed a passion for Chiropractic Medicine and decided this field was her future. As a committed soccer player, Dr. Habenicht was always searching for real health solutions instead of medication for her injuries. In high school, she sought out Chiropractic Care for a severe ankle sprain. As a result she experienced full resolution of ankle pain and weakness, and due to the comprehensive nature of the practice she also had relief of hip pain and a reduction of GERD symptoms and debilitating migraines. This inspired her to pursue both Chiropractic and Functional Medicine to use natural remedies to heal chronic conditions and know more about it.

Prior to Chiropractor school, Dr. Habenicht attended Montreat College in North Carolina on a Soccer Scholarship, where she also received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Pre-Medical Studies and a double minor in Chemistry and Environmental Studies. Her other interests include: hiking with her dog Hunter, playing soccer, learning how to golf, and reading.

Acupuncture Mmundelein – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is Acupuncture in Mundelein?

Acupuncture Mundelein is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice that has been used for over 2,500 years. Acupuncture is based on the belief that life energy, or qi (pronounced “chee”), flows through the body and can become blocked. When this happens, it can lead to pain or illness. Acupuncture Mundelein is thought to help unblock the qi and restore balance to the body by placing fine needles along the body’s various meridians aka energy pathways.

Acupuncture Mundelein stimulates specific points on the body by gently inserting thin needles through the skin. Needle administration is very comfortable and placed along strategic channels that correlate the various body systems. Patients rarely feel the acupuncture needles because of the swift technique and fine gauge.
Popular problems:

  • acupuncture for migraines
  • acupuncture for sciatica
  • anxiety acupuncture

Will I be sore after treatment?

Soreness is common early on in treatment due to soft tissue and neurological adaptations taking place with treatment. This tends to subside after the first day and a half, at which point patients recognize relief of the overarching injury.

What to wear to acupuncture Mundelein IL?

You will need to wear light and comfortable clothing for your acupuncture session. There should be easy access to the knees, elbows and neck.
You will be alone in the session, we do not do community acupuncture.

What to expect during treatment?

Follow up appointments are approximately 30-45 minutes in length of 1-on-1 treatment. Each treatment will vary by individual and per condition. It is not uncommon that a patient begins to feel relief after the first visit.

Things to do at Mundelein

University of Saint Mary of the Lake Tour

The layout was carefully planned to reflect Christian life and values, and has been lauded for the beauty of its architecture and the way it harmonizes with the idyllic lakeside setting. The USML grounds are open to the public daily, and you can contact the seminary for a guided tour if you would like more background.

Diamond Lake Beach

The Mundelein Park District owns the eastern shore of this expansive natural lake. Many people who have grown up in the village look back fondly at childhood summers learning to swim in the lake or playing at the beach. Open early June through mid-August, Diamond Lake Beach covers almost 100 acres, and as well as a big arc of golden sand, features a floating sports park, a sand play area and shaded picnic areas.

Barefoot Bay

Barefoot Bay is six acres in size, and features a combined zero-depth leisure and lap pool, a 740-foot-long lazy river, a diving pool, a wading pool for toddlers, a kids’ spray park, a tube slide, two body flumes and a climbable “water wall” for a unique workout.

Tighthead Brewing Company

Surely the only craft brewery in America to be named after a rugby position, Tighthead Brewing Company was founded in 2010 by master brewer Bruce Dir who played the sport for 13 years. The taproom has the ambience of a traditional pub, as a welcoming place to unwind, meet friends, play board games and watch some sports. There are food trucks on Thursdays and Fridays for beer-friendly comfort food like pizza, burgers and BBQ.

Bess Bower Dunn Museum

There’s a great history museum for all of Lake County a short hop north in Libertyville. Named for Bess Bower Dunn (1877-1959), the county’s first official historian, the museum has rich collections and takes you on a chronological journey through the history of the area. This begins in prehistory, with a fossil dating back 420 million years and the skeleton of a dryptosaurus.

Mundelein Farmers’ Market

The village has a diverse and well-attended farmers’ market, taking place on Fridays, 3 pm to 7 pm mid-June to mid-October. You’ll find the Mundelein Farmers’ Market at the corner of Park and Seymour Streets, and there are close to 30 vendors here most weeks.

Kracklauer Park

This compact, centrally located park sits near the foot of the water tower, just around the corner from Mundelein’s Metra station. This is longer than most communities in the Chicago suburbs, running from mid May to the start of August, and organized to suit all ages and tastes. The park is also home to a dance studio, offering instruction for various styles and ability levels.

Lake County Fair

The Lake County Fairgrounds are just outside Mundelein in Grayslake, and the main event goes down over five days at the end of July. The Lake County Fair has been going for almost a century and remains an opportunity for the county’s community to gather.
